Adam accepts faculty positionAdam J. Engler, Ph.D., has packed up his Yankees paraphernalia and traveling tiki torch and moved on to a position as Assistant Professor of Bioengineering at UCSD.![]() Geoff Hunt wins CellSlam awardNIH Director Dr. Elias Zerhouni awarded Geoff Hunt an official NIH pin for his performance at CellSlam, the 2007 ASCB “Show Me the Science!” Stand-Up Science Poetry Slam. 7 finalists were each allowed 3 minutes without audio-visual devices to make a science issue, concept, or discovery come alive before a live, standing-room-only audience. The celebrated panel of judges included Dr. Zerhouni, science journalists from the New York Times, Washington Post, and NPR, editors from Nature and Science magazines, and several members of the ASCB. Geoff performed a scientific rendering of Snoop Dogg's "Gin and Juice", providing a colorful description of graduate student life at the bench. Selwyn accepts faculty positionSelwyn A. Williams, Ph.D., has taken a position as Assistant Professor of Biology at City Tech, New York City College of Technology of the City University of New York (CUNY) system.
